She quickly sighted the animal, pounced, and bit it. "A vole," she replied. She scented more mice.. probably a pack. "Do you smell that?" she asked.

Dawnfire looked at him. "Duh!" she said. "We might as well go to find a large rabbit, these mice look bony and old." She turned around, sniffing. No scent came to her nose.

Falcon Wing sighed. "I hate Leaf-bare. Now that Rustyclaws has got kits, were going to have an even harder time than ever." He looked into Dawnfire's eyes. His geze filled with doubt, worry, sadness, and and a faint flicker of hope. "I just hope we can make it."

Dawnfire stared straight back in his eyes. "Times are hard. We can only hope for the best and support our clan. Now, let's get some food for the elders. I think we might need some more." She sniffed again. This time, a light scent of rabbit came. She pricked her ears, and cocked her head. "Do you smell the rabbit?" She said, while she turned to face FalconWing.

She playfully pounced along. "Lighten up, FalconWing. It's not like the world will end," Dawnfire said. She jumped in front of him, then bounced back. But then she slowed down and walked quietly. She looked at his face. "You can't embarrass yourself in the woods," she said quietly, continuing to walk alongside him.

Dawnfire, looking like a crazed rouge, pounced on him, claws out, teeth bared. But just in time, she ducked out of the way, laughing as she did so. "Ha-ha," She smiled at him. She pretended she saw something, leaped as if to pounce on it, only to grab a pile of leaves and blow them all in his face.

She was not out of breath. "There's always something so... mysterious... about the woods," she thought aloud. She lay down next to him, putting her head on a patch of moss. She snapped back into focus. "Yes, there's always time for play." She turned and smiled at him.
